BestSync 2010

BestSync is a file and folder synchronization tool. It can also sync your Outlook and Windows Mail folders and send them to a network drive, FTP server, or simply to another file or to any removable drive on your computer.

The application uses a wizard for the creation of synchronization tasks.

The wizard is quite simple. You tell it what folders you want to synchronize and in which direction you want the process to go. If you are syncing two folders on your local drive, you can click on next. If you are using a FTP server, you have to type in your login details and path information. The next step allows you to enable something called backup archiving system, which, in short, keeps copies of files that will be deleted, just in case. Also, you can enable versioning here. This feature will create a folder system with the dates of the sync operations within your target folder.

BestSync has a very complete set of features, which include, among others, versioning, encryption, and several types of scheduling. I personally like the option that allows you to start a synchronization task whenever the target drive or disc is inserted.

BestSync 2010 doesn't differ much from version 2009. Most changes have to do with scanning and copying speed. There are some new features like bandwidth limitation and real-time synchronization, for the paid version. Several bugs have been fixed.
